As we head towards the end of this year’s Fringe, we want to give some heartfelt thanks to our incredible volunteers who dedicate their time and energy each year to make the festival run efficiently and smoothly
We also want to take a moment to spotlight our incredible Volunteer Team Leads this season. We asked our Volunteer Team Leads to share what they were looking forward to about this year’s Fringe:
Vivian Baihe Qi (Volunteer Co-ordinator)
“I’m thrilled to be rejoining the Fringe Family for the 2025 Festival and working with our amazing Volunteer Team! I’m looking forward to another year of live performance arts and artists who continue to push the envelope. This Fringe is truly the place to be – there’s nowhere else quite like it.”
Piper MacDonald
“I’m thrilled to be here for the second year in a row! I admire the hard work that the volunteer team contributes to the success of the festival, and I feel privileged to work alongside them this season. In addition to supporting volunteer operations, I’m looking forward to hearing live local music at the Fringe Bar, seeing bold and daring theatre around Granville Island, and getting to spend time with fellow Fringers! This festival means so much to me, and I can’t wait for another year of supporting a community that values experimentation and creativity so proudly!”
Ankita Sharma
“Stepping into my third year with the Fringe Festival, I’m filled with immense gratitude to once again be part of this extraordinary journey. What began as a role has grown into a deep connection — the team has truly become a second family. Being involved in volunteer engagement and coordination continues to be a privilege, especially within a community so full of passion, creativity, and joy. Each year brings new moments of awe, and I look forward to once again creating something truly remarkable together on this 41st celebration…!!”
Tiffany Yau
“I’m so excited to be back with the Fringe’s VTL team this year! As a first-timer last year, it was an absolute pleasure getting to work with the amazing community of volunteers that make this vibrant festival possible, and I can’t wait to see new and returning faces as we get into training sessions and the festival run itself. With new additions like Kids Fringe and vendors, as well as this season’s eclectic roster of performances, I’m looking forward to what’s in store while continuing to celebrate the arts in the Fringe fashion we know and love!”
Alvin Mathew
“I’m so excited to volunteer with the Fringe again this year. It was an honour to witness all the creativity from the artists and commitment from the volunteers last year and I’m overjoyed to see all of it again this year!”
