We’re thrilled to announce our 2026 Mainstage Lottery Artists selected to take to the stage this September on Granville Island. This year, the core Fringe team gathered in our office to draw the lottery live on camera. Shout out to EventLab for producing the stream. If you tuned in, thank you for joining us! If you weren’t able to, we hope you’re as excited as we are to see this list.
This year’s Fringe Lottery had a total of 420 applicants and 39 spots available. Of those 39, some had already been drawn. Two spots were drawn from the CAFF Touring Lottery. This is the lottery presided over by the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals. The two artists are:
- Diane Jorge – Solovela, An Improvised Solo Telenovela
- Sima Sheibani – One Day of her Life
We are also pleased to present the winner of the Kathleen Flaherty Prize, LIVE IN HELL by Marita Michaelis with Lauren Han and Alexandra (Ali) McDougall.
We are also pleased to share the new Fringe Ensemble Prize Award, a producing scholarship designed to celebrate and support ambitious ensemble-based work. Supported by the Levy-Ehrcke Family Fund, the Fringe Ensemble Prize will provide a cash award, production mentorship, and a spot in the annual Vancouver Fringe Festival to the successful applicant.
Applications are open and close Sunday, March 1 at 11:59PM PST for a spot in the 2026 Festival. To find out more details and to apply, click here.
Our team will be reaching out to the artists who have been selected to confirm their spot. If any artists who were drawn in the 1st phase are unable to accept their spot, the spot will be offered to the first artist on the waitlist who entered the first phase of the draw.
