60 Seconds With…The Multifaceted Mind behind ‘Integration: Creating Art from Life’s Chaos’

Meet the self-proclaimed ‘silly goose’ and heart behind this 2024 Fringe show…

Briefly introduce yourself/your company…

Hello! I am a silly goose, first and foremost, with a particular penchant for words. I’m an avid storyteller, poet, and hip-hop artist. My abilities in juggling, dance, and finger painting are all roughly 4/10 according to my daughter.

What is it that makes your work/company unique?

As far as I know, this show is the closest thing to watching a “Behind The Music” style show on stage. The audience gets to interact with the back story and creation process of a hip-hop album while the music from the project drives the narrative forward.

What kind of experience do you hope audiences will have during your show?

I hope that people will see themselves or their experiences in what we bring to the stage because I want them to feel less alone. For me, life is easier when I remember that I’m not the only one going through what I’m going through.

Without spoilers, tell us what you think audiences will remember most about your show…

They’ll remember Islay – I’m quite sure of it. And if they want to know what Islay means, they’ll have to come to the show! 😘

How do you feel about participating in the 40th anniversary of the Vancouver Fringe!?

Elated. Grateful. Curious.
