60 Seconds With… David C Jones of song-filled comedy ‘Eviction Conniption’

We speak with David C Jones, the lyricist behind ‘Eviction Conniption’. In our latest blog, we learn all about this surreal comedy show.

Briefly introduce yourself/your company…
My name is David C Jones, and I’ve been involved with a friends in many capacities over the years, including auctioneer and host. You could read more about me and see more about me on my website. www.davidcjones.ca

What is it that makes your work/company unique?
This show is a multimedia show with songs, composed by nine different people, but lyrics by me. It is dealing with my recent mental health diagnosis in a comedic and surreal way.

What kind of experience do you hope audiences will have during your show?
My hope is that people will recognize them selves and also have greater compassion for others.

Without spoilers, tell us what you think audiences will remember most about your show?

I think the dolphin song or the kids song will likely stick in people’s memory. Also the dancing monkey.

What do you think is the best thing about Fringe?
I love seeing all the creativity and bravery.

What is the most important thing you hope audiences will take away from your show?

Well, I’m really hoping that when they meet someone they don’t know everything that they are going through or have been through and they take that into account.
