Communion

Shipou Collective

Communion is not church.

By definition, communion is “the act or instance of sharing”. Sharing of time, thoughts, and secrets. Sharing a meal, laugh, or dance. Communion is using each other. In a good way.

In this story, we get to look through a window into the world of two friends. Over dinner one night, the platonic lovers launch into an absurd dialogue; raising troubling questions about themselves and reckoning with what might become of their friendship.

Throughout their conversation, both Martine and Marlee are faced with mirrors held up to their greatest flaws and insecurities. They peer into the depths of the other and discover what it truly means to support somebody. How deep will we go to find the lonely child within? At what point do we stop coming of age? What does it take to feel safe? A live band underscores their self-questioning and universe expanding talk.

Watch as our characters create new worlds just by speaking them into existence; and just as easily, come back to reality. Watch them clown around and churn up more love for each other than they are able to stomach.

Dive into this story made for anyone who has ever had a friend or would like one.
