Site-Specific
Site-Specific Explained
Do you have a story that could be set outdoors? And is it perfect for the unusual locations on Granville Island? Consider applying in our Site-Specific category!
“Site-Specific” shows must be outdoors and located on Granville Island. We also encourage you to integrate the performance in some way to the physical location. Site-Specific applicants pay a $45 application fee and will have until March 1st, 2026, to apply, or until all spots are filled.
Applications in this category will be considered in the order we receive them in and assessed in accordance with the show’s feasibility and Granville Island’s approval. Approval from Granville Island is not based on artistic merit, and only the feasibility of being able to perform outdoors within the constraints of their physical space and policies (including limitations on strong language, adult themes, and noise as well as a requested location in a location currently under construction will not be approved). If approved, companies must pay a Fringe participation fee of $400 due by April 16th, 2026. Site-Specific shows will receive no technical support from either Granville Island or the Vancouver Fringe.
Applications open November 19
