We are calling for anyone and everyone who would like to take part in the behind-the-scenes activity of the Vancouver Fringe Festival. In addition to playing an essential role in the success of the Festival, volunteers enjoy the benefits of improved communication skills, work experience, and potential networking opportunities.

More tangible benefits include a free t-shirt, snacks in the Volunteer Centre, an invite to the Volunteer Appreciation Party (where there will be exclusive performances from Fringe artists), and, best of all, the Volunteer Rush Pass, which allows free admission into any show that’s not already sold out!

With the variety of positions we have available there’s bound to be a position that fits you, so check out all the volunteer positions we have, and then either sign up, or if you are a returning volunteer, simply update your profile. Please make sure to fill out your profile completely, including your contact info and qualifications. We’ll email you when shifts are available so you can sign up directly.

We are also accepting applications for Volunteer Team Leaders for those who would like to take on more responsibility and want to gain skills in human resources, arts administration, and event planning.

Please join us! We’re very excited to have you!

And a special shout out to Shear Comfort, , who are back to support our Volunteer Program for another year!

CanadaHelps and GIV3 are challenging Canadians to be more giving by encouraging you to give to your favourite charities (cough, the Vancouver Fringe Festival)! To inspire you to give, they’re hosting a contest where your entries mean your favourite charity (cough, the Vancouver Fringe) is entered to win $10,000!

Every dollar donated through CanadaHelp.org is an entry for your favourite charity (…) to win. But, donations must be made before June 30, 2016 at 11:59:59pm Pacific Daylight Time and the minimum donation is $3. So what are you waiting for? Your fav… We want to win $10,000! Donate today and help us win!

AND if you donate $25 or more before June 24 you’ll be included in our Donor Thank You page in the 2016 Festival Program Guide! The Program Guide is distributed all around Vancouver, including at Blenz Coffee locations and at Big Rock Urban Brewery, and is shared on our website—so you can bask in the glory of making the Fringe Festival and independent theatre possible!

Speaking of giving, we’re working on Your Fringe for a Day—that’s where you love the Fringe so much that you donate $1000 and get your very own day of fame at the Festival! There are a few days left, so if you (or a group of you and your friends) want to own your own day at this year’s Festival, email Robyn ASAP!

Save the Date: Fringe AGM on July 28!

The First Vancouver Theatrespace Society (FVTS), producers of the Fringe Festival, will be holding an Annual General Meeting on Thursday, July 28 at 6:00pm at the Big Rock Urban Eatery. If you purchased and activated a Membership at the 2015 Fringe Festival, then you are a Member and eligible to attend and vote during the AGM.

This year FVTS will be proposing a new set of bylaws in order for the FVTS to be in compliance with the new Society Act.

We’ll send an official notice of the meeting soon, but for now, save the date to come and vote at the AGM on July 28.

The Fakespeare Festival

The York Theatre
A cheeky new festival celebrating clever Canadian twists on Shakespeare, including Titus: The Light and Delightful Musical Comedy of Titus Andronicus, which won last year’s Public Market Pick of the Fringe—now in its full two-act glory!
