This Thanksgiving, we’re asking you to give back and help us spread the word about the joy of Fringe. In spite of arts funding cuts, a global pandemic, and a restriction on audience sizes, the Vancouver Fringe has found a way to bring a safe return to live theatre. We are so profoundly grateful to our community and to our artists for joining us on this journey. But there are still too many people who don’t know about the incredible work being done at the Fringe. So spread the word and help us Close the funding Gap!
This Thanksgiving, we’re asking you to tell a friend why you’re thankful for the Fringe. Use the hashtag #ThanksVanFringe and #donatetoday to spread the joy and share the love! We’ll be keeping an eye on the hashtags and the best story will win a Fringe hoodie!*
Are you a female-identifying BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Colour) Artist who feels inspired after watching the readings at this year’s Advance Theatre: New Works by Diverse Women series at the September mini-Fringe? Ruby Slippers Theatre is now accepting applications for the 2021 Advance Theatre series!
All you have to do—if you’re a female-identifying BIPOC Artist, that is—is to submit a ten-page excerpt, a short bio, and a synopsis of your work to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Advance Theatre Submission” in the subject line. The deadline to submit is on March 15, 2021!
Ruby Slippers Theatre’s guest curator for the 2021 Advance Theatre is Fringe veteran, and now Ruby Slippers’ Artist-in-Residence, Nyla Carpentier! Her play in-development The In-Between Place was part of Advance Theatre in the September mini-Fringe.
