New Board Members Wanted

Looking to support the local Arts scene? Begin your adventure with Fringe Festival.

The Vancouver Fringe Theatre Society is seeking two new board members to strengthen our board. We are seeking individuals with board governance experience or a keen interest in learning about board governance. As part of our commitment to our vision, we are examining a number of our operating pillars, including our core principles, organizational structure, and policies and procedures. We will continue to place a particular emphasis on equity, diversity and inclusion, while recognizing that there is much more work to do.

You will be supporting the mission of the Fringe festival to cultivate artists and audiences to create an open and vibrant independent theatre community. You can be part of Vancouver’s best theatre festival (as voted by Georgia Straight readers). The Fringe festival is typically produced annually over 11 days in September, with over 500 volunteers supporting 700 performances and attracting over 30,000 attendees.

Who should apply?

People who are interested in supporting the theatre community. We welcome members of equity seeking populations. The time commitment is 3-7 hours per month.

What will you be doing?

Attending month board meetings, working with the board affairs committee. Assisting with special projects and strategic planning.

What skills are we looking for?

Commitment to the mission and work of Vancouver Fringe Theatre Society, supporting the board with knowledge in the areas of board governance, participating in strategic planning for the organization, supporting our equity, diversity, and inclusion mission.
