Josh Romyn
Josh Romyn is a Vancouver-based standup comedian, filmmaker, and musician. Growing up in a hyper-religious family in small-town Ontario, he was homeschooled for the first thirteen years of his life (which explains a lot, to be honest). Following that, they attended school to become a pastor, dropped out twice, left religion, had a few depressive episodes, and flailed through a handful of creative pursuits. With plenty of time and a dozen identity crises under his belt, Josh is trying to figure out how he got here: A happily married, sober, medicated comedian who can’t stop worrying that he’s doing everything wrong.
In their first solo show, a blend of standup comedy and storytelling, Romyn unpacks his chaotic upbringing, mental health, sobriety, gender, sexuality, and more, while trying to figure out who he is and where he fits in the world.
