Sanction Me, Daddy
Niki Mohrdar
Join comedian Niki Mohrdar (Just For Laughs Vancouver, CBC, OutTV) for a sharp and deeply personal journey through immigration, identity, desire, and belonging. Growing up as a first-generation Iranian immigrant in Canada, Niki traces the ways whiteness and racialization shaped her understanding of attraction, love, and self-worth: from falling for white boys, to losing herself in the process, and ultimately finding her way back.
Blending stand-up, storytelling, and cultural critique, this show examines how immigrant experiences can influence our romantic lives and the people we choose to love. Along the way, Niki shares some of her most hilarious dating stories, offering both incisive reflection and plenty of laughs. Dating white guys isn’t easy, but someone has to do it.
The performance also features two opening acts from some of Vancouver’s finest local comedians.
