Ickoholics Anonymous
Lucy Lucia
Hi, my name is Lucy and I am an ickoholic.
Think AA, but instead of alcohol, this group is for people addicted to getting ‘the ick.’
Ickoholics Anonymous is a one-woman musical comedy cabaret returning after an award-winning Australian season in 2024.
Starring Lucia Lucia, the audience is taken through her spiraling dating journey, from the seemingly harmless, everyday icks — like using the wrong “your/you’re"", breathing too loudly at the gym, or wearing sockettes instead of long socks — to the deeply unhinged reality of having standards so specific they start to send you delulu. One minute you’re fine, the next you’ve ended a relationship because someone ran to chase a ping pong ball and you can never look at them again.
The show blends music and storytelling, which is interwoven within a PowerPoint presentation that gives the lowdown of the ick for any of the non-Gen-Z-ers out there.
At its core, Ickoholics Anonymous is about modern romance, self-sabotage, and the shared delusion of trying to find connection whilst being crazily repelled by the smallest things.
For anyone who's ever felt the full-body cringe of the ick or ended a relationship because of the way someone ran to catch a bus, this show is for you.
