Your Fringe for a Day!

What might you, Queen Victoria, Saint Patrick, and Jesus have in common?
A day dedicated just to you!

That’s right! Any individual or group (your birding troupe, caching club, choir, etc.) who donates a minimum of $1,000 to the Fringe can OWN a day of the Festival. We’ll proclaim your awesomeness all day long at our Mainstage venues and around the Festival. You can bring some friends or your entire group to see some Mainstage shows that day while basking in all your fame and glory. We’ll shower you with piñatas and elephants!*

This year’s now-famous Fringe Day owners include:
Wade and Cher
The Frunks!
Janice Fontaine
Leonard Schein
Joanna Maratta

Your Fringe for a Day donation needn’t come all at once—donations can be spread out in monthly payments (as little as $84 a month). And, of course, individual Major Gifters will also enjoy the benefits of being a Fringe Soul Mate.

Want your Fringe for a day? Contact us at 604.257.0350 (Ext. 107) or fundraising@vancouverfringe.com for more details.

*Our insurance provider advises we may not be able to feature either piñatas or elephants. Killjoy.

Wade and Cher Day! – Saturday, September 10
Newlyweds Wade and Cher love each other. They also love the Fringe, so last year they decided to take their frequent Fringe-ing to the next level. They started donating at the Soulmate Level and now enjoy the Fringe Benefit of a Kick Ass Pass giving them all access for two.
Congratulations, Wade and Cher!

The Frunks Day! – Sunday, September 11
The Frunks are a bunch of somewhere between 7 and 9 fantastic friends and Fringe fanatics who spend 11 days, every September seeing a lot of shows, volunteering a ton of time, and drinking a bit of beer. They couldn’t experience the fabulousness that is Fringe without funding and so they also donate a lot of cash. They encourage you to do the same! Support the arts, live theatre, and the Fringe!

Janice Fontaine Day! – Friday, September 16
The lovely and glamourous Janice Fontaine is no stranger to the Vancouver Fringe. Not only is she a long-time donor to the Festival, she has been a staff member, a Board Member, and even Board President. And this year, she’s our One True Love!

Janice enthusiastically continues to donate because she feels the Fringe offers a first time live theatre experience to so many.

Leonard Schein Day! – Saturday, September 17
The dashing Leonard Schein is a former Vancouver Fringe Board member, the owner of Festival Cinemas, and a general cornerstone of Vancouver’s cultural scene. He thinks the Fringe is one of the best parts about living in Vancouver.

You can further celebrate Leonard Schein Day by donating during the special Sweet on the Fringe shows today—Leonard has pledged to match ALL those donations made today!

Joanna Maratta Day! – Sunday, September 18
Joanna is our fabulous and fearless founder, starting the First Vancouver Theatrespace Society in 1984 and launching the first Vancouver Fringe in 1985 – now going strong in its 27th year! Thanks Joanna!

Joanna hopes you have enjoyed this year’s Fringe and looks forward to seeing many of you at Awards Night this evening when she’ll present the award named in her honour!
