GETTING TO THE FRINGE

With restaurants, a food market, pubs, live theatres, galleries, art studios and shops – Granville Island is the hub of the Fringe Festival. Surrounded by mountains and ocean, with a relaxed atmosphere, Granville Island is the perfect stage for outstanding theatre at the Fringe. Located in the heart of Vancouver, Granville Island (under the south side of the Granville Street Bridge) is easily accessible and the following modes of transportation have been tried and approved by Fringe family and friends. Remember that Bring Your Own Venues (BYOVs) are scattered around town.

Walking, Cycling & alternate forms of transportation

A bicycle is a fantastic way to navigate your way around the Fringe. Go to www.city.vancouver.bc.ca/maps.htm and click on Bicycle Routes & Map to find your best routes. These routes are also suitable for people on foot. You can bring your bike on certain bus routes such as the 99 B-Line. Between 7:00AM - 7:00PM, free time-limited parking is available in designated areas throughout the Island. During those hours, a vehicle may only park in a suitably designated space without cost for a maximum of 3 hours. Moving to another spot is permitted as long as the accumulated time does not exceed 3 hours. If you want to extend your stay, we recommend that you move into a pay lot or garage and purchase the extra time needed. Vehicles parked overtime will be ticketed. After 7:00PM, parking is free and without time constraint.
