If you weren’t at the Georgia Straight Fringe-for-All last week and you were following along while we live tweeted it, were you really not there? The Georgia Straight Fringe-for-All was held last Wednesday, September 6 at Performance Works and it was as popular as ever. In fact, the 250 seat capacity sold out before the doors even opened!

The two-hour event was brilliantly hosted by multiple Pick of the Fringe winners Travis Bernhardt and Chris Ross of the Fringe famous duo Chris & Travis. Their quick wit kept the show going, the acts moving, and more importantly the audience laughing. And with 40 shows moving on and off the stage–it really was quite the feat! And the 40 shows did not disappoint. Some memorable moments of the night: I Am For You had a fist fight on stage, Stupid Cupid threw an entire box of condoms into the audience, Good Game in “Gung Ho!” fired their horse lifeguard, and Interstellar Elder was put through a garburator!

Intrigued? Scroll through our Twitter page and see the live tweets for yourself! Or buy a ticket and see the shows in their entirety!

Roundhouse Radio is known for their hyperlocal content, engaging storytelling, and intelligent discussion. They are so hyperlocal, in fact, that their radio station is a fixture in Railtown, located right on the fringes of Downtown Eastside. “We’re the only radio station on the street,” says Roundhouse Radio chief executive Don Shafer in the Globe and Mail. “We can see the best and the worst of what happens on a day-to-day basis. It is admittedly confronting to be on the street like we are, but it’s real and it’s why we’re here.”

Their mission to be local and inclusive means they highlight community groups they believe are making a real difference to Vancouver. This month, that charity is us! For every new subscriber in the month of September, Roundhouse radio will donate $1 to the Vancouver Fringe Festival. So not only do you gain admission to station events, invitations to exclusive Roundhouse performances, and access to Roundhouse Radio podcasts, but you will also support the largest non-juried, uncensored theatre Festival in BC! What’s not to love about that? Sign up for a Roundhouse Radio membership and join the Fringe family today! Or check them out at the Fringe Bar tonight (Sept. 9) and learn more about them in person.
